Candoo’s key people
I have over 30 years of sales management and sales director experience in various industries, 13 of those years were spent at www.rightmove.co.uk as an Area Director, helping to build a grow the business from an effective start up to a FTSE100 company and possibly one of the most successful Proptech companies to date, this success was achieved through implementing a growth mindset which created a culture that people wanted to be a part of, which really helped us build great teams.
More recently, before setting up Candoo, from January 2019 to May 2022, I ran a successful consultancy business, working with several clients, to assist their growth, however, I dedicated most of this time, working with Homegate.ch the No1 property portal in Switzerland supporting them with their sales and product improvements, improving their overall sales approach and people culture, their pricing structure and implementing new improved strategies, which resulted in greater productivity and increased monetisation of recurring revenues for the business.
When building great teams, I believe creating a “Commitment Culture” is critical to success and something I have always looked to build in my businesses, if everyone is pulling in the same direction, then success will be achieved much quicker.
Outside of work: I love nothing more than a round of golf or spending time, socialising with family and friends, with the odd holiday thrown in when possible.
A senior commercial executive with 25+ years’ experience in media, online pure-play, sales & proptech with a track record of delivering. I was Commercial Director of Rightmove PLC and for 14 years part of the senior management team. A large part of my time was spent recruiting the best talent and growing the teams.
More recently, I have focused on recruitment, consultancy and advisory roles helping to bring people, plans and actions together and executed excellently. Helping organisations and people to grow and solve problems along the way is what I find exciting! Having the right people around you will make the biggest difference. I love working alongside like-minded people and organisations, being in it together. A commitment culture of deep trust and safety, looking out not in.
Outside of work, I enjoy basketball, spending time on the beach, paddleboarding and BBQ’s with the family with a Mojito!
I have worked in recruitment for over 23 years running my own agency “Pisces Recruitment Limited” which was a hugely successful independent sales recruitment business, where we worked with some of the UK's leading media, Proptech, publishing, business information and service based sales companies including Rightmove, Yell Group, Thomson Directories Ltd, Reed Business Information, Daily Mail Group, Towergate Partnership, Datamonitor PLC and Initial Medical to name a few.
I have, over the past year taken a bit of a break whilst I moved myself and my family from the UK to Spain, but now that the move is complete and I am well rested, I have been enticed back into what I know best, recruitment, to team up and help Stuart and Jason, whom I have a great relationship with, to make “Candoo” a force in the Sales recruitment space.
Outside of work I love spending time listening to my vinyl collection and doing parties for friends and family having spent 20 years working as a mobile DJ before hanging up my headphones.
